Resicare Alliance’s Therapeutic Practice in Residential Care programme, endorsed by ATHE (UK), brings five focused training days to India and the UAE – equipping you to work confidently with children and young people with autism, learning disabilities, attachment and trauma needs.
The training is tailored for people working with – or planning to work with – children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs in residential or community settings.
Final-year or recent graduates in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, OT, Special Education and related disciplines preparing for international careers.

Each course is delivered as a focused one-day training using seminars, workshops, case-study analysis and role-play to ensure practical, applied learning.
Explore autism and communication challenges; learn non-aversive techniques, Social Stories, communication aids and the SPELL approach to support children and young people with ASD.
Understand attachment, loss and trauma; develop integrated therapeutic responses and apply motivational interviewing principles when working with complex emotional presentations.
Learn how to use play as a therapeutic tool; gain an overview of Theraplay and develop structured engagement strategies for children and young people with complex needs.
Understand PIE practice in residential provision and how trauma-informed environments support behaviour, safety and outcomes for young people.
Build strong safeguarding practice with a focus on children with disabilities and cultural context. Identify concerns, communicate inclusively and plan safe, person-centred responses.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic, trauma-informed practice and psychologically informed care within residential and community settings.
The programme has been reviewed and endorsed by ATHE, a UK awarding organisation, against clear quality criteria covering aims, learning outcomes, content, delivery and learner profile.
Important: This is an ATHE-endorsed learning programme, not an Ofqual-regulated qualification. Learners receive an ATHE-branded certificate of completion, not a formal qualification certificate or level-awarded diploma.
On successful completion and registration by the centre, ATHE issues a security-marked certificate confirming that you have completed the endorsed programme.
Only ATHE can issue certificates carrying the ATHE name and logo. Providers may issue their own additional certificate if they wish, without using the ATHE name or logo.

The programme is suitable for both new entrants and experienced staff. A basic understanding of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is helpful, but motivated students planning to enter these sectors are also welcome.
