Resicare has been officially recognised as a Winner at the Mentl Awards, receiving the distinction for “Outstanding Well-Being Support to Front-Line Heroes.” This honour highlights the organisation’s unwavering commitment to delivering trauma-informed, ethically grounded care in some of the most challenging environments in the world.
Earlier this year, while attending Arab Health, Resicare’s Director of Clinical Services, Antony Bainbridge, was approached by the South Medical Alliance to develop a specialist programme for children and young people affected by war and torture. With extensive expertise in trauma and recovery, Resicare was the natural partner for such a sensitive and urgent initiative.
Resicare designed a 12-day advanced programme tailored for trained practitioners already possessing therapeutic foundations. This innovative course expanded their capabilities through evidence-based approaches to conflict trauma, culturally responsive intervention strategies, and ethical, human-centred care delivery in crisis settings. The programme was successfully completed in September 2025 in Gaza, with plans for expansion into other regions in the coming year.
The impact of this work resonated deeply with the judges of the Mentl Awards, one of the Gulf region’s leading events recognising progress in mental-health practice. In their citation, the panel praised the project as “a reflection of immense care, professionalism, and courage in addressing trauma where it’s most profound.” They further highlighted how the initiative “found the balance between evidence-based clinical rigour and cultural sensitivity. This work is both technically strong and humanistic in its approach.”
For Resicare, the recognition goes far beyond awards. The programme represents a commitment to children whose earliest memories are shaped by conflict and loss. It reflects the principle that every child, no matter the circumstances, deserves safety, healing, and hope.
