CHRIS BROWN

HEAD OF EDUCATION

Prior to starting my career in education I ran a successful personal training business alongside playing rugby to a high level. I got involved in educational later in my twenties where I started my teaching career at St Edward’s Prep School in Reading as head of geography and physical education. Transitioning into secondary education in a large independent school in the West Midlands as a residential housemaster and Director of Sport. I later moved to Norfolk to take up a position that I believed was an independent all-through school, only to discover that it was a school for students with special educational needs (SEN), which set me on a course for specialising in more diverse education. I served there for some 10yrs as the registered Headteacher before moving into an executive heads role, overseeing a range of schools and Post 16 colleges. I didn’t mean to arrive at this career path but through learning how to cater for children with a wide range of learning needs from autism to complex trauma , I got so much out of it in terms of providing the students with more bespoke opportunities. Every child deserves and education and to be creative in what that looks like to allow learning to take place. Resicare Alliance is unlocking the opportunities for like-minded students to reach their potential. I believe students can be placed with us and we are able to create an educational offer that is bespoke for the young person with the ultimate aim of engaging them back into full time education, either onsite with our residential homes, through a blended approach of virtual and classroom lessons to full integration into schools and college, either within our own portfolio or within the locality.
