The Role:
ResiCare Alliance is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead our new 6-bed children’s home in Handsworth, supporting children with complex trauma and emotional needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a new service, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and therapeutic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management – Lead and inspire a team to provide a therapeutic, structured, and nurturing environment for children with complex trauma.
- Regulatory Compliance – Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Home Regulations, maintaining the highest standards of care.
- Trauma-Informed Care – Oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Safeguarding & Well-being – Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of all children in the home.
- Team Development – Recruit, train, and mentor a highly skilled and compassionate team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Quality Assurance – Implement robust quality assurance measures, conducting audits, and identifying areas for service improvement.
- Financial & Operational Oversight – Manage the home’s budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it).
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches for children with complex needs.
- Extensive knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and children’s residential care legislation.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a commitment to building a strong, supportive staff team.
